Incorrect artist mapping is a common issue that happens across all stores. It’s an issue that all distributors face and is something that we have to handle reactively rather than proactively.
Luckily, because it’s something that crops up so frequently, there’s an easy fix. We can help with artist mapping problems for iTunes, Spotify, Deezer and sometimes, though not always, Amazon.
Please note that artist mapping issues do not affect your streaming data or royalties payments.
There are generally three mapping issues:
1. Another artist’s releases appear on your profile.
2. Your release appears on another artist’s profile.
3. Your release has appeared on a brand new artist page rather than mapping to your existing artist page.
To fix mapping issues after release, please send us live links to all the incorrectly mapped releases, as well as your correct artist page if relevant. If you need a new page set up, no worries, just send us links to your releases and we’ll request it for you.
We can check mapping issues for Spotify and Apple pre-release. Once your release has been delivered to the services (which will show up in the Product Delivery section of your Portal), please send us over the UPC of your release and a live link to your correct artist page, and we can check it for you.
To report any mapping issues and ask for them to be resolved, please get in touch via the Contact Us page on the Portal.
