AWAL operates a 4 week lead time between upload and delivery. This is to allow for the following processes:
- The AWAL QA process: Each release is checked over by our Deliveries team to ensure it meets the Digital Music Services specifications. If your release does not meet the specification, it'll be returned to your AWAL Portal with an accompanying email explaining the changes that need to be made. Please see "Top 5 Reasons Your Releases Aren't Approved First Time" for more information. It's worth double checking each upload against this list before submitting the release.
- Delivery to the Stores: Each Digital Music Service has a differing ingestion lead time. By ensuring all releases are uploaded at least 4 weeks in advance, AWAL are able to guarantee (barring major issue) the release will be delivered and ingested by each Service we deliver to before your release date. If the release is delivered to the Services after your scheduled release date, it’ll go live across different services on different days, and we’re unable to provide any information as to when the release will be live.
Please Note: Holiday Delivery Timelines are outlined here for any projects with a release date after 10th November 2018. Normal timelines resume after 18th January 2019
All AWAL Releases are sent to the Digital Music Services as part of our Release Schedule. If you’d like to discuss the possibility of further promotional assistance, we’d love to work with you to ensure you’re on the right track. This conversation needs to start 6 weeks in advance of release. For more information, please reach out to our AWAL Community Support Team or your AWAL Contact.
Should you need to update any information about your releases after they’ve been released, such as the cover art or label credits, you’ll need to reach out to the AWAL Community Support Team or your AWAL Contact and provide the UPCs of the release and the information you’d like to change. Please allow 7-10 working days for any updates to be live across all services.
If you need your release taken down from all digital music services, you’ll need to submit a takedown request via the AWAL Portal or with your AWAL Contact. It can take up to 7-10 working days for takedowns to be completed across all services, again due to varying ingestion times. Takedowns are not immediate and can’t be scheduled to an exact date, so please keep this in mind. There’s more information on takedowns here.
