Our Multi Factor Authentication process is a new additional step to help improve the security around your AWAL account. We highly encourage AWAL members to utilize the Multi-Factor Authentication step for the best protection of your AWAL account. If opted in, you'd be verifying your login using your phone number each time you sign into an AWAL application (App & Browser). Before you log in, a code will be sent to the phone number registered with the AWAL account email address which you'll then simply enter into the field on the Portal.
SMS Authentication uses the text messaging service on your mobile phone to send you a one-time login code which you need to enter when prompted at the portal login screen.
How to set up SMS authentication
Navigate to your portal login page at https://portal.awal.com/
Fill in your company-issued credentials and click Sign In
Navigate to the 'Account Security' page (you can find it underneath the Settings menu)
Where you see 'Multi-Factor Authentication', click Enable
A pop-up will appear at the top of your browser asking you to confirm you want to enable MFA
You will be redirected to the portal login screen where you will need to re-enter your email address and password.
Click Sign in
Select what country you are based in
Enter your mobile number
Click Send code
You will receive a code via SMS which you will need to enter
You're done! You will now have activated Multi-Factor Authentication
