Pandora is a music & podcast discovery platform with over 70 million users each month with multiple subscription tiers. If you’re having a hard time locating your releases on one or more of Pandora’s tiers it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- Ineligible Content - Some types of content are not eligible for Pandora’s service offerings. This includes content in a language that is not accepted (Ex: Asian characters are not supported on Pandora’s platform), Karaoke tracks, re-records, or possible suspicious infringing content.
- Mechanical Rights - In order for releases to be live on Pandora, proper mechanical rights must be in place. If mechanical rights cleared for the content aren’t in place, then it won’t be available on Pandora Premium. Pandora is integrated with Music Reports (MRI) which is a service that helps artists manage music rights. With Pandora’s integration with the service, Pandora AMP users can easily resolve publishing issues within the Pandora AMP platform.
- Curation - Pandora is a curated platform meaning your music won’t always be present on all of Pandora’s tiers. Your releases should always be available on Pandora’s Premium tier, however, it isn’t guaranteed to be live on Pandora’s other tiers. Pandora’s curation team reviews and analyzes delivered releases and determines if the release will be made available on other tiers. You can utilize their Independent Artist Submissions Tool to prioritize your music for review by the curation team.
