Pre-adds on Apple Music, similar to Spotify’s pre-saves, allow users to ‘add’ an EP or album release so the EP/album is automatically available in their library from release day.
In order for your release to be eligible for pre-add, it must meet the following conditions:
- Your product must be available for pre-order. Pre-orders can be set up during the upload process on step 6 of the Uploader.
- Your product must have at least one Instant Gratification Track set up. These Instant Gratification tracks will be available for fans to stream once they are made live during the pre-order period.
Note: Single (one-track) releases cannot be set up for pre-add.
The pre-add feature on Apple Music will become available automatically as soon as your release’s pre-order date has been met and at least one IG Track has gone live. The ‘pre-add’ will apply to the entire release, not just the live IG Track.
