You can set up multiple labels or sub-labels within your AWAL account, under which your releases will be distributed.
You'll need to add a label credit to each release uploaded through AWAL.
An official label credit is a line of metadata that's required by all Digital Music Services as an additional way to categorise your releases. It's also important for distribution of certain types of royalties.
To add a new label for your releases, click on the ‘New’ toggle associated with the ‘Release Label’ section under step 4 of the Uploader and type in the name of the label.
Note: You cannot have AWAL as your label, or in your P & C lines. Many AWAL artists use their artist name in their label name metadata fields, which shows that they are independent artists who own their own work.
Once the upload process has been completed, the new label will be added to your account and available within the drop-down menu as an ‘Existing’ label for future releases.
Important: Creating a new label in the Uploader does not generate a new AWAL account. All labels will still live under the account they were created under and thus all royalties for the labels will be sent to the one set of bank details we have on file.
