To transfer your catalogue over to AWAL, all releases should be entered using the Portal Uploader. We will make sure that the releases meet criteria of the digital services and will then deliver the catalogue to them. We will be in touch if there are any issues.
To avoid a break in sales please ensure your releases are live on services via AWAL before issuing a takedown from your previous distributor. Learn how to monitor the delivery of your releases here.
It’s important to make sure the metadata (especially ISRCs) remains the same when submitting to us, so that play counts and playlisting remain intact.
Other metadata tips you should adhere to:
- The original UPC code should be retained, as long as it was assigned specifically for the digital release.
- The P Year should match the year the title was originally released. If remastered, it should match the year of the remaster.
- The C Year should match the year the artwork, packshot, packaging etc of the Product was first created. Please note that the P Year and C Year do not always match - especially with regards to re-released sound recordings (e.g. as remastered versions) which use the same artwork and packaging as the original release. If in doubt, you should speak to your independent music/entertainment lawyer for advice.
- Original Release Date should match the year the content was first released. A deluxe version should have the same Original Release Date as the main version of the album.
