A remaster is a new mastering of a previously released track or album. We won’t be able to replace the audio on an existing release to add remastered files, so you’ll need to upload your remastered product anew in its entirety.
If you’re uploading a remastered track or product, please keep the following in mind:
- A remastered version should be treated as a new track and as such will have a new ISRC assigned. If you have an ISRC prepared already, you can input this on step 5 of the Uploader. If you need an ISRC assigned, we can assign one for you if you leave the ISRC field in the Uploader blank.
- You should include a Version Title noting that this is a Remaster on the track by filling out the relevant field at the track level (and release level if the entire release has been remastered). The Version Title should also include the year of remastering (for example, ‘2020 Remaster’).
- The year entered in the P&C lines on your release will be affected as well. P lines (steps 4 & 5 of the Uploader) must reflect the year of remaster. The C Line will only be affected if the artwork has also been updated in any way. If the artwork has remained the same as the original version of the release, please use the year the artwork was first released.
- The Original Release Date (step 4 of the Uploader) should reflect the date the release first went live in any form, digitally or physically. This should not be the original release of the ‘remastered’ version, but rather the release of the original version of the product.
