Updating Your Bank Details
In order to ensure your royalties are accounted to you properly and efficiently, you will need to provide us with up-to-date bank details for your AWAL account. Only one bank account can be associated with an AWAL account at a time, and all royalties for the account will be allocated to those bank details when payment is processed. You can edit your bank details at any time in the Settings tab on your Portal, however, please be sure to input updated details by the 3rd of any given month to ensure we can ingest your details in time for payment that month.
Note: You will not be able to access the AWAL Uploader for the first time until you provide us with your bank information.
It’s absolutely vital that your bank details are entered correctly in order to prevent failed or returned payments. The first step to ensuring we have accurate bank details on hand is to select the correct account type from the ‘Bank Account’ dropdown in the Settings tab on your Portal. We’ve provided and explained all the necessary fields for each bank account type below:
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Australian
- Canadian
- International
- European
- *European accounts include non-EU countries such as Russia and Iceland*
Note: The Bank Account field should reflect the country/territory your bank account is actually located.
United Kingdom
- Payment Currency: This should be the currency of your bank account. Please note, this is not necessarily the currency we’ll pay you in as we pay out according to your Agreement currency. You can view your Agreement Currency right above the ‘Account Type’ dropdown in the Client Details section under the Settings tab on your Portal
- Payee Name: Please enter the bank account holder’s name here exactly as it appears on the bank account/statements.
- Sort Code: Sort codes should be exactly 6 digits
- Account Number: Your account number should be exactly 8 numbers
United States
- Payment Currency: This should be the currency of your bank account. Please note, this is not necessarily the currency we’ll pay you in as we pay out according to your Agreement currency. You can view your Agreement Currency right above the ‘Account Type’ dropdown in the Client Details section under the Settings tab on your Portal
- Payee Name: Please enter the bank account holder’s name here exactly as it appears on the bank account/statements
- Payee Type: Select either ‘Individual’ or ‘Company’. This should pertain to the actual bank account holder, not the entity on your AWAL agreement
- ACH Routing Number: ACH routing numbers should be exactly 9 digits. ACH routing numbers can be different than ABA routing numbers so please consult your bank to verify your ACH routing number if you’re unsure. If your bank does not have ACH routing please get in touch with us via the Contact Us page
- Account Number: This should generally contain 10-12 digits
- Account Type: Checking or Savings should be selected here dependent upon which kind of account you’ll be paid into
Note: If you are using a US bank as an intermediary bank for international payments, complete this form instead of utilizing the Settings tab on your Portal and send it to us via the Contact Us page (under the Support tab).
Australian
Complete and sign this form and return it to us via the Contact Us page on your Portal. We’ll need to enter your details for you manually on our end. Be sure to include your Account number, BSB, and SWIFT code on the form.
Canadian
- Payment Currency: This should be the currency of your bank account. Please note, this is not necessarily the currency we’ll pay you in as we pay out according to your Agreement currency. You can view your Agreement Currency right above the ‘Account Type’ dropdown in the Client Details section under the Settings tab on your Portal
- Beneficiary Name: Please enter the bank account holder’s name here exactly as it appears on the bank account/statements
- Address: This should be the address of the account holder and match the address associated with the bank account currently
- SWIFT/BIC code: This code must be correct and will be required in order to process a successful payment to a Canadian bank. These codes are generally between 8 and 11 characters. Please check with your bank if you are unsure what your bank branch’s SWIFT/BIC code is.
- Account Holding Branch: This should generally be 8 digits (the financial institution number being the first 3 digits followed by the 5 digit branch transit number)
- Account Number: This should generally contain 7-12 digits
International
- Payment Currency: This should be the currency of your bank account. Please note, this is not necessarily the currency we’ll pay you in as we pay out according to your Agreement currency. You can view your Agreement Currency right above the ‘Account Type’ dropdown in the Client Details section under the Settings tab on your Portal
- Beneficiary Name: Please enter the bank account holder’s name here exactly as it appears on the bank account/statements
- Address: This should be the address of the account holder and match the address associated with the bank account currently
- Bank Name: Enter the name of the bank your account is associated with
- Bank Address: Enter the address of the bank branch your account is associated with
- Bank Country: If you’ve selected the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, or a European country in this field please instead utilize one of the other Account Types (Bank Account Dropdown). This field/account selection can be used for banks in all other territories but the ones listed above
- IBAN/Account Number: IBANs should generally be between 16 and 32 characters, depending on the territory. If your bank does not utilize IBAN codes, please select the ‘Account Number’ field instead
- SWIFT/BIC: These codes are generally between 8 and 11 characters. Please check with your bank if you are unsure what your bank branch’s SWIFT/BIC code is
European
- Payment Currency: This should be the currency of your bank account. Please note, this is not necessarily the currency we’ll pay you in as we pay out according to your Agreement currency. - Bank Country: If you’ve selected any non-European country in this field please instead utilize one of the other Account Types (Bank Account Dropdown). This field/account selection should only be used for bank accounts held in Europe
